Homeowners are encouraged to place house numbers on their properties in ways that will allow public safety personnel to easily see them from the street. This includes numbers that are reflective, at least four inches high and a color that will stand out from the background so that they can be seen both night and day. (City Code 8-5)

A maximum of four hens are allowed on residential properties in Burnsville if they adhere to the housing and setback requirements. Conditions may be inspected at any time.

At this time, beekeeping is allowed within zoning districts designated as one-family rural residential (R-1A), as long as the hives meet the accessory structure setbacks and are managed responsibly. Beekeepers must provide an on-site water source, adequate living space and management of unusual, aggressive behavior or swarming of the honey bees.
