How does Adopt-a-Street work?
Adopt-a-Street groups agree to adopt a street for a minimum of two years. The Public Works Department will help your group select a street. Some streets may not be eligible. The segment of street should be at least one mile in length.

Groups must arrange pickup dates in advance with Public Works. The City will provide high visibility vests, trash bags and safety information for your group. Work may not be allowed on or near holidays. Groups must pick up litter at least three times a year along both sides of the roadway.

Groups should leave filled trash bags along the roadside as specified by Public Works. Groups are encouraged to recycle materials for their own benefit. The Public Works Department will remove filled bags, and large, heavy or hazardous items from the roadside.
