The Economic Development Commission (EDC) is an advisory body to the City Council and the Economic Development Authority charged with the responsibility of researching, reviewing, and making recommendations on issues related to economic development.
The qualifications of the EDC members shall be those who in judgment of the Council are representative of the community and are qualified by training, experience, and interest useful for the fulfillment of the EDC’s responsibility in economic development. All appointed members will receive training in the relevant laws, policies and procedures.
Three years (may serve two terms).
The EDC shall consist of seven regular members and one alternate member to be appointed by the City Council. The alternates may vote when there are six or fewer regular members present.
Minnesota Statue 471.701 requires that a city or county with a population of more than 15,000 must annually notify its residents of the positions and base salaries of its three highest paid employees. The City of Burnsville’s titles and salaries as of January 1, 2021 are: City Manager: $177,138; Fire Chief: $168,471; PW Director: $168,471.
