S.O.R.R. Programs

The City of Burnsville partners with the cities of Apple Valley, Eagan, Farmington, Lakeville, Rosemount and Savage to offer unique opportunities for recreation. Activities take place in the S.O.R.R. cities. Age and residency requirements vary with each activity.

S.O.R.R. Communities

Contact the recreation department in one of the S.O.R.R. communities to register for S.O.R.R. programs.

Adult Leagues and Programs

Hockey: Open hockey and the South of the River hockey league are held at the Burnsville Ice Center. Hockey programs are available throughout the year.

Kickball: S.O.R.R. Co-Rec Spring/Summer Kickball is a great way to relive everyone's favorite playground game. A tournament will be held at the end of the season. Kickball is coordinated by the City of Savage and held at various parks in Savage.

Bocce Ball: S.O.R.R. Co-Rec Spring/Summer Bocce Ball is held at the Savage Community Park, 13550 Dakota Avenue, in Savage, Minnesota. Registration is coordinated by the City of Savage.

Co-Rec Broomball: Eagan and Burnsville partner to offer a co-rec broomball league that meets at Rahn Park in Eagan and North River Hills Park in Burnsville. Registration is coordinated by the City of Eagan.

Family Programs

Grandparents, Grandkids & Seniors Day at Holz Farm

Seniors, grandparents and their grandkids are invited to experience the nostalgia of days gone by at the 1940's-era Holz Farm in Eagan. Activities will include a tractor hay ride, entertainment, family games and a picnic complete with roasted corn. The "Friends of The Farm" will offer walking tours of the farm and farmhouse while sharing education and cultural perspectives that appeal to a wide range of interests and ages. Held in August.

Ground Pounders Grand Prix Running Series

A variety of races offer everyone the chance to get involved. Six races are available in this series and you can earn points (and prizes) for each race in which you participate. Contact each city for race specifics.

Who Done It Hike

Play Sherlock Holmes by collecting clues, gathering information and solving mysteries--all while walking the trails at Ritter Farm Park in Lakeville, Minn. When the end is near and you think you have it solved, you'll get a chance to guess "who done it!" Pack a picnic lunch. Held in September. Coordinated by the City of Lakeville.
